Shabu Plus

Last night for dinner my best friend and I wanted to get hot pot for dinner after we saw the Nutcracker Ballet performed by the Joffrey Ballet which was, in my opinion, such a wonderful and joyful experience especially since we are in the christmas season i truly loved seeing it in person for the first time in many years. So of course we were starving after so the best place to go to cure our hunger was her favorite hot pot place in wicker park; Shabu Plus. i had never been there before so she explained everything to me and how it works once we chose our dinner package. we chose the adventure package which included beef, pork, brisket, chicken, and dessert. this was a super unique dining experience and i had so much fun ! it was so cool because you get to sit in front of a moving conveyor belt that carries everything you would want to add to your soup (ramen, mushrooms, dumplings, vegetables, rice cakes ect) and on the other side there is a station where you get to make and customize your own sauce ! when it's time to get the meat portion of the package it's very easy and straightforward. All you have to do is use the touch screen and select which meats that you would like to add and then click add to cart and confirm the what you want. that part was my favorite because they send a little train to your seat and it announces your order ! everything tasted amazing, the staff were super friendly and helpful the whole time; i would love to go back there sometime ! 11/10
